On 1 May, Breathless Press will be closing following a year of declining sales. This decision has not been an easy one to make and has not been made lightly.

We have always put our authors first and so we have chosen to close now, on our own terms, while we are still in a position to meet our financial obligations.

We are closing with heavy hearts, but with our heads held high.

To all our talented authors, dedicated staff and wonderful supporters, we want to thank you for taking this journey with us.

I’m so sad to announce to you all that my original press, the birth mother of JADED and CARLOS & CASEY, is closing its doors on May 1st. (Though, wait, hang on: I suppose *I’M* the birth mother of my books…and the publisher is more like, the sugar daddy? I’ll need some time to figure out the family tree, so check back on this one.)

The text quoted above is the formal announcement released by Breathless Press. After May 1st, I will be attempting to re-house JADED in its current format, and will re-release CARLOS & CASEY in a self-published format.

Sending my warmest hugs and most heartfelt wishes to all the other BP/Lycaon Press Authors as we struggle to adjust to the news and figure out the next steps. The publishing world is a different beast than it was even just a few years ago. Though I’m still a newbie, I can sense the shifts, can hear the author complaints, can feel the struggle as people fight against various fluctuations and distinct tide changes.

Do any of us know how this will end up?

Well, aside from a Google/Amazon monopoly, that is…

For now, the only path is to continue onward and upward…writing, writing, writing, editing, editing, editing, revising, revising more, revising until eyes bleed, and then regurgitating it all into ebook/print versions once the vicious internal cycle has been completed. And then begin again.

Breathless Press made my dreams come true! And now that they’re closing, it’s certainly sad, but not the end of the road for this erotic Ember Leigh, nor the other authors I had the pleasure to work with. Oh hell no! Much more is on the way…so stay tuned, ya’ll!
