We’ve been chugging along with the Erotic Destination series; and according to my personal plan and Overarching Publication Timetable, the next installment (Book #3, Turkish Delight) is due out in approximately five days.
But you know what? I underestimated what August would be like.
I am, once more, a victim of my own overachieving.
I’ve realized that when I look ahead at my schedule, I turn dangerously optimistic–the sort of optimism that pumps through my veins like heroin, and makes me think I can do my full-time day job AND novel revisions on two books AND take care of my best friend during her convalescence AND plan a wedding AND maintain a yoga practice AND [insert numerous other things here]…
Basically, I assume that I can bend time and otherwise slip into wormholes while hiring two of my equal clones. But don’t we all, though?
Seriously though, August has been exciting and jam-packed. And I want to share WHY.
I’m getting married to the love of my life, my Argentinian bonbon Jorge in a little civil ceremony next week. Even though I’ve gone the non-traditional route (not-white dress, courthouse ceremony, no rings, no wedding party, etc), there’s still a lot of planning and detail-wrangling to oversee.
We’ve opted for a courthouse ceremony this month, with a big, grand reception for all our friends and family further on down the year, in December. That will give us plenty of time to plan and save and wrangle MORE details.
But for now? Next week, I’m getting married!
I’ve got the dress; I’ve got our ring-replacement, which is something personal to us that we picked up in Peru that resonates more for us than rings; Jorge’s got his suit, which was gut-wrenchingly expensive but also so worth it; we’ve got the majority of our Ohio friends and family on board that can come to our business-hours-wedding, which happens to be the most inconvenient date and time in the history of weddings; and most importantly, we have a helluva lot of excitement and love swirling around here!
The next installment of the Erotic Destinations series will come out when it does…hopefully in September, at the latest. Hey, this is what happens when you think you can neatly pile a wedding on top of existing obligations without any fluctuation in output or time management. *Ahem* Yeah. Good one, Ember Leigh…
I’m not complaining. August has been a heullva ride! HAPPY AUGUST, friends!
